We know that you want to help your children and students be successful and develop habits of lifelong learning, both in school and out. Getsmarter.org has been designed to help you achieve that goal.

Our mission is to stimulate improvements in mathematics and science education. Getsmarter.org provides:

  • Free, no-risk, K-12 self-assessment in math and science with international benchmarking – In the privacy of their own homes and classrooms, site visitors can instantly compare their performance with that of students around the world, based on the results of the Third International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) in 1995-99.
  • Self-assessment linked with learning and self-improvement –In a fun, fully interactive environment, site visitors have access to hints, tutorials and links to the best web sites for increased understanding and improved performance in math and science. MSTV allows high schoolers to explore the significance of math and science in our daily lives.
  • Leverage for reform in math and science education – Ongoing development of partnerships among the business, education and policy communities is key to improving math and science education and exciting our country's youth about these important subjects.

We provide several links to our companion site, GetTech.org, where your student or child can learn about the careers available in the math, science, and technology fields. We feature high-demand, high-tech vocations that require the mathematical and scientific knowledge that is being encouraged on the Getsmarter web site.

We want to provide the best tools possible, and so we need your input. Please tell us what you think of our web site and what improvements and other resources you would like to see. We will incorporate your feedback and that of others to provide education tools of the highest quality available on the web.

We appreciate your assistance and look forward to helping our children "getsmarter!"
